Create Your Outdoor Living Room

outdoor 1For Wisconsinites, the summer is more than just a season. It’s a celebration of getting outdoors after what was, more than likely, a rough winter. Are you one of those folks right now staring at their boring porch or humdrum deck, thinking “if only…?” Let’s talk about creating your outdoor living space and moving your living room outside!

Open-Air Living Room on a Deck

How old is your deck? That’s a good first question to ask. Have you “let it go” and are a little embarrassed by the chipping and peeling and sagging boards? It’s time to consider a whole new deck that will get you and your family and friends outside. There are a lot of options here at Brunsell when it comes to decks and decking. We will work with you to design the deck you want that will function as a second living room! And we aren’t just talking wood, although, we love the natural beauty of wood. We can talk to you about low maintenance composites and even PVC products. In our next blog, we will focus on Trex Decking.

Once you choose the kind of deck, it’s time to look at what will make the outdoor living room as comfy as the one indoors. Would you like a swing? We will need to consider some overhead protection, a pergola. But, adding that means adding places you can hang more than just a swing; lights, plants, etc. It’s a great idea! Living room comfort means outdoor furniture that can take a weather beating as well as a nice outdoor rug. Will you build wooden privacy fence? If so, you can hang mirrors on it or other decorative items to add flash.

Are you ready to get your home décor juices flowing, creating a whole new room? Have we sparked some ideas that you want to talk about? It’s not too late in the season to start designing and building!  Come and see us and let’s enjoy the outdoors again!
